Osseous canals

1 Definition

Osseus canals are tube-shaped cavities inside of the bone.

2 Anatomy

Different types of canals can be differentiated:

2.1 macroscopically visible canals

Cavities visible by the naked eye, which serve as a passage for anatomical structures (blood vessels, nerves), for example:

2.2 microscopically visible canals

Cavities inside of the osseous tissue only visible by microscope:
