Definition

Biometry is a scientific discipline which uses methods from mathematical statistics and applies them to the biological sciences, in particular to medicine.

Biometry is an important part of clinical research. It provides mathematical methods to evaluate objectivity and comparability of new insights. Furthermore, biometry is used to calculate whether study results are significant and can be applied universally. Today, biometrical analysis is an integral part of most scientific publications.
