Muscle septum

1 Definition

The muscle septum is a layer of fibers made of connective tissues in between of two muscles.

2 Background

Muscle septa separate vicinal muscles or groups of muscles functionally and serve as a origin for muscular fibers. They are in close connection with the epimysium and the fascia.
