The macroscopic anatomy is a subfield of anatomy and deals with the description of body structures which are visible with the naked eye.

2 Background

The classification of macroscopic anatomy and microscopic anatomy is founded on an historical background, as microscopic processes to examine the human body where developed several time later.

3 Classification

The macroscopic anatomy of the human body can be subdivided into different aspects. One possible aspect is for example the classification into organ systems.
