1 Definition

The fibrous rings of the heart refer to the connective fibrous rings of the heart within the atrioventricular ostium.

2 Function

The fibrous rings serve as suspensions of the valvular leaflets (cuspids) of the atrioventricular valves. As part of the cardiac skeleton, they contribute to the stabilisation of the valve plane as well as the electrical isolation of the atria and ventricles. They include:
