The fascial compartment describes the space which is surrounded by an aponeurosis respectively by a fascia and contains a functional group of muscles which belong together functionally. Fascial compartments are generally supplied by mutual vessels and mutual innervation and offer just very little space for an expansion of the surrounded tissue.
