Pulmonary trunk

German: Anulus trunci pulmonalis

1 Definition

The pulmonary trunk is a collagenous fibre ring that belongs to the fibrous rings. It spans the pulmonary ostial trunk and delimits this in the valve plane or the plane of the cardiac skeleton.

2 Anatomy

The annulus of the aorta serves as a fixed anchor point of the semilunar valves of the pulmonary valve. Dorsally, it adjoins the aortic ring of the aortic valve.
