1 Embryology

1.1 Definition

In fields of embryology, mytome descirbes the early muscular segments of the embryo. They originate from the dorsolateral parts of the somite, the so-called dermato-myotome.

Myotomes are groups of myoblasts, which can be distinguished into two parts:

2.1 Definition

In fields of anatomy, myotome describes the entity of muscles which are innervated by one spinal nerve. Accordingly, it is the muscular equivalent to a dermatome.
