Iatrogenesis is adopted as medical term from greek and means "brought forth by the healer". Iatrogenesis can be defined as every adverse effect on a patient elicit by means of a healthcare professional (e.g. Physician, Nurse, etc.).

Examples:

  • postsurgical complications
  • side effects of medical drugs
  • medical errors
