Body orifice

1 Definition

Body orifices are interruptions of the body surface's continuity which enable a substantial and non-substantial exchange with the environment.

Natural body orifices (e.g. mouth, anus) possess particular typical properties (food intake, excretion). Artificial applied body orifices are referred to as Stoma, traumatic acquired body orifices are refferd to as wounds respectively perforations.
