Arcuate nucleus (medulla oblongata)

Anatomy

The arcuate nuclei are situated on the anterior surface of the pyramids. They receive fibers from the cerebral cortex and send fibers via the anterior external arcuate fibers to the cerebellum. They may be described as inferior displaced pontine nuclei.
