Corpus: Dorsal intercarpal ligaments
Definition
The dorsal intercarpal ligaments are a group of longer and shorter ligaments that connect the carpal bones to each other on the dorsal side of the wrist.
Anatomy
The dorsal intercarpal ligaments take the form of a flat tape running transversely across the dorsal aspect of the wrist, encompassing all carpal bones with its offshoots. They are part of the fibrous wrist cuff that surrounds the entire carpus.
Fiber bundles from the forearm bones and the metacarpus also radiate into the dorsal intercarpal ligaments.
