The arm is the free upper limb of the human body, encompassing not only the arm itself but also including the shoulder girdle.

The arm’s structure involves several bones:
- humerus (upper arm bone)
- ulna and radius (forearm bones)
- carpal bone (bones of the wrist, or ossa carpi)
- metacarpal bones (bones of the mid-hand, or ossa metacarpi)
- phalanges (bones of the fingers)
Function
The human arm boasts the most extensive range of movement of any body part. Its functions are diverse, including serving as a tool for gripping and manipulation, as well as playing a crucial role in maintaining body balance. This versatility allows for a wide array of movements and activities, from fine motor skills to aiding in overall body equilibrium.
